Ellehammer Standard – Introduction

Although Ellehammer flew in 1906, his aircraft was tied to a pole, and his record was not official. Santos Dumond flew un-teathered in Paris the day after Ellehammer. The Ellehammer Standard Monoplane was actually controllable and could fly without being tethered. Ellehammer was the first person to fly in Germany with this plane. The original is in the Teknisk Museum Helsingør, and several replica planes were made, including one in 1944 with ‘fixed’ wing.

I will start modeling this aircraft, but as of today, I do not posess sufficient metal working tools to actually build the model. This will hopefully change in the near future, so I can get this plane going.
