I managed to get a few hours of work done on the Dove – this time on the wing attachment. It is not complete, but it looks great, and it is to scale, including the step in the passenger cabin where the spar crosses the fuselage.
I use tubes to attach the wings to the fuselage. The fuselage, furthermore, has a wing profile attached, It will be part of the wing fillet. It also improves the strength of the fuselage area, as the tubes in the fuselage can be longer than if the wings directly butted against the fuselage.

Hi
I came across your site recently.
I am just a ‘newbie’ at modelling and cad drawing.
Could you please advise what “modelling cad software” you use to produce designs like “The Dove” in your project.
Luv the duv
Regards
Geoff
Hi Geoff,
I am using a software package called Alibre. It is a low-cost 3D CAD program – I bought it when it was on sale for US$99. It is very similar in operation to Solidworks. It was made for plastic molding applications, and has a few limitations, in particular with lofting. There are however (slow) ways around these limitation.
I have had quite a lot of positive feedback on the Dove. I am glad I am not the only one who love this airplane.
